One of the most widespread myths is that orthodontics is for children and teenagers. It isn't. Teeth move at any age — what changes over the years is the time the movement takes, not the possibility of doing it.

The process always has the same phases, regardless of whether you choose invisible aligners or braces:
We assess your bite, take photographic records and, if necessary, X-rays. With all that we design the treatment plan and explain how long it will take, how many visits you'll need and what result you can expect. In the case of invisible orthodontics, we do a digital simulation so you can see the planned movement.
With braces: placement in a single session. With invisible aligners: we hand over the first aligners and explain how and how long to wear them — at least 22 hours a day so the treatment progresses as planned.
Every 6-8 weeks with braces. Every 8-10 weeks with invisible aligners. At each visit we make the necessary adjustments and check that the movement is going according to plan. Fewer visits than many people expect.
When the teeth have reached their final position, the retention phase begins: a splint or retainer that stops the teeth returning to their previous position. This phase is forever — teeth tend to move throughout life, and the retainer is what prevents it.
It depends on the complexity of the case. Simple cases with invisible aligners can be resolved in 6-12 months. More complex cases with braces can take 18-24 months. We tell you before we start, with a detailed plan.
In the first few days after placing the braces or changing aligner there may be some pressure or discomfort — it's the sign that the teeth are moving. It goes away in 2-3 days and is well controlled with common painkillers.

In many cases yes. Implants don't move with orthodontics, but the treatment can be designed to work around them. Every case is different — we assess it at the initial consultation.
The teeth move again. It's one of the most common reasons people who have already had orthodontics need it again years later. The retainer isn't optional — it's part of the treatment.
For most cases, yes. Invisible orthodontics technology has advanced a lot and today it can resolve practically the same cases as fixed orthodontics. There are very specific situations where braces are still more effective — we tell you if that's your case.
