Your dentist in Barcelona

Finding a dentist you trust in Barcelona shouldn't be complicated. One who knows you, who remembers your history and, above all, who doesn't recommend treatments you don't need.

That's what we've been for our patients in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi for 35 years. A small, trusted clinic where the care is personal and the time you need is the time you get.

What do we do at a general dentistry clinic?

General dentistry is the foundation of everything else. When a mouth is well cared for at a general level —with periodic check-ups, correct hygiene and small problems solved in time— more complex treatments are avoided or reduced. Prevention is always simpler and cheaper than treatment.

At Clínica Dental Sancho we are the family dentist for many families in Barcelona. We take care of the day-to-day of your oral health and, when something requires specialist attention, we manage it in-house — because we also do dental implants, endodontics, periodontics and dental prosthetics.

Check-ups and diagnosis

The annual check-up —or six-monthly if there's more risk— is the most important tool you have to keep your mouth healthy. At each check-up we examine all the teeth, the gums, the mucosa and the bite. We take X-rays when necessary to see what isn't visible to the naked eye. If we detect something, we explain it and decide together how to act.

Professional dental cleaning

The brush and floss don't reach everywhere. Tartar builds up in areas that are hard to clean at home and is only removed with the right instruments. A periodic professional cleaning —usually once or twice a year— is the most effective way to prevent decay and periodontal disease.

Fillings and restorations

When there's decay, the sooner it's treated the better: the procedure is smaller, the tooth loses less structure and the result lasts longer. We use high-quality composite for fillings. If the decay has advanced a lot, we assess whether a larger restoration or a root canal is needed.

Extractions

When a tooth can't be saved, extraction is the last resort. We always try to keep the natural tooth if possible — but when it isn't, we do the extraction as comfortably as possible and explain the options to replace the tooth: dental implants or dental prosthetics.

Dental emergencies

Acute pain, a breakage, a crown that has fallen out — when something can't wait, we try to see you the same day. Call us and we'll see what we can do.

What sets us apart — and what hasn't changed in 35 years

There are things in general dentistry that matter more than technology or facilities. Continuity, the personal touch and knowing that the person treating you knows you and won't recommend anything you don't need. That's what we try to be for our patients.

We know you — you're not a file

At Clínica Dental Sancho we're a small team. That has a clear advantage: the person who treated you last time is the same one treating you this time. We know your history, your quirks with the dentist, the treatments you've had. You don't have to explain it every time.

No over-treatment — we tell you what you need, no more

One of the most common fears about going to the dentist is being offered more than you really need. At our clinic the criterion is the opposite: we only recommend what makes clinical sense for your case. If something can wait or isn't necessary, we tell you.

No waiting — and with the time you need

We don't have weeks-long waiting lists. And when you're in the clinic, we don't rush you. Each visit has the time it needs to be done well and for you to ask whatever you want. We know going to the dentist isn't almost anyone's favourite plan.

Everything in one place

If at a check-up we detect something that needs more specialist treatment — an implant, a root canal, periodontal treatment — you don't have to go elsewhere. We do it all here, with the same team that already knows you. That gives continuity to the treatment.

Prevention is always easier than treatment

Most of the serious dental problems we see in the clinic have something in common: they started small. A cavity that didn't hurt. Gums that bled a little. A tooth that was slightly loose. Things you can see at a check-up that, treated in time, don't get worse.

When ignored for years, the problem that would have needed a filling ends up needing a root canal. The one that would have needed a cleaning ends up requiring periodontal treatment. Prevention isn't just one more visit to the dentist — it's the difference between a simple treatment and a complex one.

How often should you go to the dentist?

The general recommendation is an annual check-up for healthy adults and a professional cleaning every 6-12 months. If there are more risk factors —tobacco, diabetes, a history of frequent decay, periodontal disease— follow-up should be more frequent. At the first visit we tell you the most suitable frequency for your case.

Hygiene at home — what really makes the difference

The visit to the dentist doesn't replace daily hygiene — it complements it. At our clinic we take the time to explain how to brush correctly, which aids to use (floss, water flosser, interdental brushes) and how to adapt them to your particular situation. There's no single formula for everyone.

Frequently asked questions about general dentistry in Barcelona

Do you accept new patients?

Yes, always. You can book your first appointment by calling us on 932 013 344, by WhatsApp on 636 365 150 or by writing to us at drsancho@infomed.es. At the first visit we do a full assessment of your mouth and explain the state it's in.

How much does a dental check-up cost in Barcelona?

The price of the check-up varies depending on whether or not it includes X-rays. We let you know when you book so there are no surprises. We provide a written quote for any treatment that's needed, before starting.

Do you handle emergencies?

We try to keep slots open for same-day emergencies. If you have acute pain, a fracture or any situation that can't wait, call us and we'll see how we can help as soon as possible.

Do you work with dental insurance?

We work mainly with direct payment. If you have dental insurance, ask us — depending on the company we can guide you on the available options.

Do you treat the whole family?

Yes. We treat adults and also children from an age when it's already useful to do the first check-up (usually around 3-4 years old). Tell us your situation and we'll guide you.

How long does a dental cleaning take?

A standard professional cleaning takes between 30 and 45 minutes. If there's a lot of built-up tartar or more difficult areas, it can take a bit longer. We don't rush — we do the cleaning well.

Can I book an appointment for the whole family on the same day?

Yes, as far as availability allows. Mention it when you call and we'll look at how to organise it so it's as convenient as possible for you.

When was your last check-up? If you can't remember, it's time

Most people who arrive at our clinic for the first time have gone longer than they should without seeing a dentist. We know. And we don't judge — we understand perfectly.
What we will tell you is that the sooner you start, the easier the starting point. At the first visit we calmly assess the state of your mouth, explain what's there and what isn't, and decide together how to proceed. No pressure, no endless lists of treatments.
We've been doing this for 35 years in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. We're the trusted dentist for many families in Barcelona. And we can be yours too.
